Expertise
Kimberly has specialized knowledge and skills for recovery from stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression and trauma responses. She has developed programs and services for the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH). She also has expert knowledge in mental health and addictions specific to drugs, alcohol, gambling, shopping and other concerns of misuse.
Kimberly has expertise in helping people with eating disorders and body image concerns. She has developed and facilitated programs for people with eating disorders and co-occurring anxiety, assertiveness issues, addictions and trauma at CAMH and Sheena's Place in Toronto.
She provides psychotherapy and counselling to individuals, couples and families in her private practice. She has co-authored 2 meditation CDs available at www.forhealth.ca, cdBaby and iTunes. Kimberly co-authored a chapter on stress and trauma for the Problem Gambling Institute of Ontario.
Education
Kimberly Murdoch is a therapist, coach and registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers, holding a Master's degree in clinical social work based in psychotherapies, a 4-year honors Bachelor's degree in social work, a 2-year honors diploma in counselling for addictions and mental health, and professional diplomas in mind-body therapies. She brings 10 years of education and training and more than 20 years of experience helping people with her unique inter-professional background.
Kimberly has completed three years of extensive, academically regulated and supervised internships for specialized training in evidence-based psychotherapies for addictions, mental health, eating disorders, trauma recovery, child/youth/family therapy, couples therapy, parenting and group therapy.
